Good News Garage, which launched in Burlington, VT in 1996, is one of the nation’s first car donation nonprofits providing affordable and reliable transportation options for people in need.

The organization has since expanded to New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts, and recently helped a Northampton woman find relief from her transportation struggles.

“I really appreciate the donation of your car," Eva Kiczkowski said upon receiving her 2010 Kia Forte. "It's going to make a big difference in my life. Thank you so much!"

These donations are made possible through a partnership with the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC), the organization reports.

Over the last 26 years, Good News Garage has donated more than 5,500 vehicles. For more information or to donate, visit the nonprofit's website.
